The best way Americans can advocate on behalf of peace
in the Holy Land and make a real difference on the ground
is to contact U.S. policymakers and tell them that you support
peace in the region and want them to make it their priority
to advance the establishment of a two-state solution between
Israel and Palestine. The most effective way to do this
is to contact your U.S. senators and representatives in
their district offices via mail or fax. It is also helpful
to arrange meetings with them when they are in the district.
If you cannot meet with the member directly, ask for a meeting
with district staff. You can write to their Washington,
D.C. offices, but it is far more effective to communicate
local concerns at a local level in order to see a significant
impact on policy. Local constituent concerns are taken
much more seriously at home because Congressional leaders
are accountable and responsible to their voters. It is the
right and responsibility of voters to educate their Congressional
leaders about constituent positions on various issues. Below
is contact information that will guide you through this
process. You may also click on the "Additional Resources"
section of the HLCS website to find talking points and other
information that might help craft your views and concerns.
