2006 HLCS Easter Appeal

Dear Friends:
Christ is Risen! Let us rejoice and be glad.
Because of your prayers, interest and support for Christians in the Holy Land, we are writing to thank you, during this holiest of seasons, for your help on behalf of Christians there and everywhere. Especially during this time after the Resurrection, when Jesus chose to visit his disciples in the Holy Land, we are reminded of His call for all of us to witness to His glory and respond in service.
We at the Holy Land Christians Society have worked very hard over the past several months to bring immediate awareness to the current situation of the Christians in the Holy Land to leaders in every level of community and government. As you are aware, many of the recent developments in the Holy Land leave its future very uncertain.
The Holy Land Christians Society believes that protecting the Holy Land means protecting and teaching the message of Christ, a message of love, acceptance and respect. The presence of Christians there is a hope for the balance of peace. For this hope, we have sent scholarships to children around the Bethlehem area to attend Christian schools, because we believe education is one of the most powerful ways to change the hearts and minds of people. Christian education enlightens children about the teachings of God, shows them how to love, live and reconcile. This message is the change needed in the Holy Land. Our goals this year are to fund the education of 100 students in the Bethlehem area to attend Christian schools, improve employment opportunities and economic development and focus especially on housing needs. We thank you and keep you in our prayers for helping us meet these important needs. God bless you generosity and kindness.
