McLean, Virginia - The Holy Land Christians Society (HLCS), in conjunction with Medical Missionaries of Manassas, sent yesterday a container of medicine and medical equipments to the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. The equipment and medicine’s value exceeded one million dollars and were sent directly to the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem in an effort to help its community cope with the hard economic and political situation that they face during this time of Christmas.

The container has medicine, medical equipment, clothes, and various hygiene products, which are all greatly needed in Bethlehem. Mr. Butros Qumseya, President of HLCS said: “as the world gets ready to celebrate Christmas, people forget about the little town of Bethlehem, the birthplace of our baby Jesus, which continues to suffer from hard economic realities. We are grateful for this opportunity to help those in need, especially when they most need it.”

Dr. Gilbert Irwin, Director of Medical Missionaries, led the effort to arrange for the shipment of the container along with Father Donald Rooney, Co-Founder of HLCS and a Board Member, who was also instrumental in establishing Medical Missionaries. Dr. Irwin commented: “We are fortunate to be able to help Bethlehem in this difficult time and we will continue to do all we can to bring relief to those who need it most.”
